The EDIX Calif horsehair mecate is a superior quality professional mecate, the 5/8” mecate has a 6 strand twist around a horsehair core and is 22 feet long. The mecate feels firm but still offers a soft and refined hand. Horsehair is often very pungent, it is therefore customary to use with riding gloves. Horses respond to the feel of the horse hair on their neck way better than to many other materials. It is with this quality of the mecate, you can give very clear and subtle neck reining signals to your horse due the spiky hairs sticking out of the mecate. The traditional materials and patterns also look exceptionally good on our horses.

Depending the size and shape of your horse you have to vary the number of wraps of the mecate onto the bosal, to fit your horse. B
